Product Description

Alright guys, let's turn Japanese. Closer to Zelda: Breath of the Wild than Persona 5 in terms of 2017's biggest Asian invasions into the UK market, Yakuza 0 takes place in an open world version of 190's Japan. In it, you must fight 2 separate antiheroes through an open game world, where the gloriously moody story with its narrative complexities will be the real draw here. The Kazuma Kiryu, who lives in the entertainment district of Kamurocho, who needs to investigate the murder of a real estate shark On the other hand, Goro Majima must protect his nightclub in Sotenbori from the blackmailing Yakuza bosses. Not only story missions, but also numerous secondary tasks await you - if you accept the challenge.

Yazuka 0: What is it Possibly About?

As the name of the game already betrays, the previous entries in the series are involved, with the whole thing sounding more complicated than it is. My advice? Just take enough time to imagine the main characters and then dive into the tasty action. In doing so, the great cutscenes sequences will underline the cinematic storyline. Although it takes up a seriously large part of the game, it delivers, being well thought-out and offering many WTF moments classic to these kinds of games.

Combat instead of Shoot'em Up

  • You can freely decide whether to follow the action or to explore the detailed city districts on your own, with many mini-games and side-missions, providing a lot of variety and humour to Yazuka 0. Just be careful out there - virtually anyone who just walks in the streets is often looking for a fight, which results in wild brawls. These street battles are quickly completed and bring new experiences and skills. They are also necessary, because the story missions contain much tougher opponents, so you'll need all the training you can get.

  • Both characters have different combat styles, and can also be beaten with items of any kind (e.g., bicycles, vases, or your classic baseball bat). These battles are really unrealistic, but that's part of the fun, along with the ease of control: one button is for blocking, one for viewing and two other keys you select, whether you are want to hit fast or hard.

Hardly Mindblowing Graphics

Unfortunately, the graphics could not quite do the whole thing justice. The interviews and cutscenes look very good, but the game graphics does not look exactly 2017ish, particularly in the age of 4K gaming and the PS4 Pro and unfortunately is almost more PS3 level. However, it should be noted that Yazuka 0 first appeared in Japan more 2 years previous. Apart from that, the developer has captured the flair of the Japanese cities of Tokyo and Osaka of the 80's, and with a satirical undertone. In terms of size, the game world can not keep up with the vast size of Los Santos from GTA V however.

Conclusion

To get to the point, Yakuza 0 offers a convincing setting and a gripping story. On the other hand, it is gloomy and serious, with some funny, almost embarrassing cameos, which provide enough variety to keep you interested. However, this is not a Japanese Grand Theft Auto. For this the focus on the story is too big and it simply lacks ballast. If you want to go for that, you should either stay with GTA V or give Watchdogs 2 or Far Cry 4 a chance.
